Primavera, the debut film by Damiano Michieletto produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and Indigo Film, will arrive in more than 50 countries. International sales are handled by Paradise City Sales (France).
Following its success in Italy following the December 25, 2025 Christmas release of WBD, the film begins its international run in theaters. It begins on April 24 with a release in England and Ireland, followed by France, Switzerland and South Korea on April 29, Belgium on May 6, Germany on May 21, Japan and Norway on May 22, Austria on June 12, Sweden on September 4, Spain on September 25, and all other releases to follow.
International sales are being handled by French distributor Paradise City Sales, which had presold the film in more than 20 territories even before filming began, eventually reaching a total of more than 50 countries.
In this international debut Primavera can count on authoritative distributions that have brought to theaters films that have made cinema history such as Diaphana ( Titane, Cold War, Close, as well as films by the Dardenne, Ozon, Ken Loach and Aki Kaurismaki) for France , Curzon ( Parasite, The Square, La chimera, Il Divo) for the UK, Cineart ( Sentimental Value, The Zone of Interest, Queer, Pathenope) for Belgium, Frenetic ( Sentimental Value, A Chiara, My Mother) for Switzerland, A Contracorriente ( As Bestas, Diamonds) for Spain, X-Verleih (Amour, The White Ribbon) for Germany, Happy Song(A Stroke of Luck-Coup de Chance) for South Korea.
After its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September last year, Primavera arrived in Italian theaters on Dec. 25 with Warner Bros. Pictures, one of the most significant dates for the film market, garnering significant critical and audience acclaim.
The film has, in addition, received international recognition, such as the Audience Award at the Chicago Film Festival, and has 7 David di Donatello nominations, including one to Tecla Insolia for Best Female Lead, to Ludovica Rampoldi for Best Non-Original Screenplay, to Fabio Massimo Capogrosso for Best Original Score, and to Maria Rita Barbera and Gaia Calderone for Best Costumes.
Primavera, loosely based on the novel “Stabat Mater” by Tiziano Scarpa (2009 Strega Prize, published in Italy by Giulio Einaudi editore), stars Tecla Insolia, Michele Riondino as Antonio Vivaldi, Andrea Pennacchi, Fabrizia Sacchi, and with the participation of Valentina Bellé and Stefano Accorsi.
Primavera is a Warner Bros.
