HG Distribution Takes PIN to Czech Audiences

HG Distribution has licensed the animated educational series PIN to Česká televize, bringing the show to audiences in the Czech Republic through the public broadcaster’s digital offering.

Under the agreement, Česká televize has acquired VOD rights for the Czech territory, with the series scheduled to launch on September 1, 2026. PIN was acquired specifically for CT edu, Czech Television’s educational website, giving the licensing deal a clear educational dimension alongside its entertainment value.

Teaching materials connected to the series have also been prepared by AISIS. Each video will be accompanied by a description and a teaching tip designed to help educators incorporate the content into their work.

AISIS is a Czech non-profit based in Kladno, founded in 1998, working in educational programming. It develops and runs programs aimed at improving education quality by bringing innovations into school practice, with clients including schools, extracurricular institutions, non-profits and, through CSR partnerships, commercial companies.

Produced by Productions Mustang and distributed internationally by HG Distribution, PIN uses short animated stories to introduce younger audiences to basic economic and financial concepts. The series follows teenager Peter Imbeault-Nicholl, known as PIN, as financial adviser Ruby Cashon introduces him to responsible finance.

The format comprises 50 three-minute episodes and five 30-minute episodes, combining animation, education and humor for kids and teens. HG Distribution lists worldwide rights as available excluding French Canada. The series has also received recognition from the Youth Media Alliance in Canada.

Licensing Can Give an IP a Longer International Life

Deals such as this are particularly valuable because they demonstrate how licensing can extend the life and reach of an IP beyond its original market. A title does not necessarily need a major global platform or a large-scale international launch to find new audiences. Strategic agreements with national broadcasters, educational platforms and specialized services can gradually introduce content to different territories and create new opportunities for both producers and distributors.

For the audiovisual industry, more circulation of IP across borders means more opportunities for existing content to generate value. For viewers, it means greater choice and the chance to discover stories, characters and formats from elsewhere. PIN’s arrival in the Czech Republic is a small but useful example of how targeted licensing can benefit both sides of that equation.
