The 10 Titles of Series Mania Buyers Upfront

The ten projects that will be presented during the Series Mania Buyers Upfront were announced today, scheduled for March 23 at the Lille Chamber of Commerce, on the eve of the Series Mania Forum, which will officially begin on March 24.

The showcase will be preceded by the traditional BETA Bunch, and after the announcement of the ‘Buyers Choice Award’ winner at the awards ceremony on March 24 at the Hôtel Barrière, there will be the event’s closing dinner.

“We are thrilled to bring back the Buyers Upfront after last year’s success: over 100 of the world’s most important buyers have already registered to discover this carefully selected slate of premium series. We are confident that this initiative will help distributors accelerate international sales. With the Buyers Upfront, we continue to strengthen our position as the unmissable spring event for the scripted community, from creation to distribution,” stated Francesco Capurro, Director of Series Mania Forum.

One of the selected projects, the France-Belgium-Canada co-production Alice, traces the human and artistic adventure of cinema pioneer and first female director of fiction films, Alice Guy. (Wild Bunch TV handles international sales).

Two projects from Spain: In Vitro, a dramatic comedy about fertility, co-produced by HBO Max and sold by Beta, and the thriller The Dark Book: The Secret of the Egerias (working title), produced and sold by Studio TF1.

Two titles also from the United Kingdom: Counsels about the world of five lawyers who studied together at a prestigious Welsh university (All3 Media International); and Number 10, where award-winning screenwriter Steven Moffat (Sherlock) together with the Hartswood Films team, will take us inside the rooms of the famous Downing Street building, number 10.

And also, the thrillers: the Swiss Blind, produced and sold by OneGate Media GmbH; the French R91 (SND Groupe M6), and the Norwegian The Traitor Within (Fremantle).

Finally, the Singapore-Japan co-production Lost and Found (Empire of Arkadia), and the Australian dramatic comedy Gnomes (Happy Accidents)
