Netflix Expands Masha and the Bear Deal

Netflix is expanding its relationship with Masha and the Bear, securing Seasons 8 and 9 of the animated children’s series while also extending rights to earlier seasons and spin-off titles.

The agreement covers more than 100 countries, including the United States, Canada, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. It gives Netflix a broader package built around one of the most recognizable preschool animation brands on the international market.

Alongside the new seasons, the platform will continue to carry Seasons 1 to 7, as well as related titles such as Masha’s Tales and Masha’s Spooky Stories. For young audiences, this kind of library depth matters: familiar characters, repeat viewing and easy access to multiple seasons are still central to how children’s content travels on streaming platforms.

New Seasons and a Wider Franchise Package

The upcoming episodes will also move the franchise forward. Masha will enter kindergarten for the first time, opening the door to new stories around learning, friendships and early childhood experiences. The new seasons will also feature the Yeti family in a winter-themed adventure, adding another storyline to the show’s wider world.

Produced and distributed by Animaccord, Masha and the Bear has become a long-running global property. The company says the brand has reached more than 150 countries and is supported by a large licensing and consumer products business.

The expanded Netflix agreement confirms the continued value of established children’s IP for global platforms. In a market where streamers are balancing original commissions with proven international brands, Masha and the Bear remains a clear example of a preschool franchise with global reach, strong brand recognition and enough library content to support long-term viewing.
