Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has opened submissions for its 2026 Works in Progress programme, inviting feature-length projects currently in production or post-production to apply by 14 September.
Selected films will be presented in the city of Tallinn on 19 and 20 November to international sales agents, buyers, financiers and festival programmers. Designed to support projects approaching completion, the initiative can help participating teams pursue sales representation, distribution agreements and festival premieres.
Three Showcases for Projects in Production
This year’s programme is divided into Baltic Event Works in Progress, International Works in Progress and Just Film Works in Progress.
Baltic Event Works in Progress is reserved for projects from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland, while the international section welcomes submissions from other territories. Just Film Works in Progress focuses specifically on productions aimed at children and young audiences.
Feature-length fiction, animation and hybrid live-action animation projects intended for theatrical release are eligible for the Baltic Event and International showcases. Applicants are expected to demonstrate international market potential, while documentaries are not accepted in these two sections.
Just Film Works in Progress also accepts feature-length documentaries alongside fiction and animation projects created for children and youth.
Projects should generally apply without an international sales agent attached. Baltic Event titles seeking festival programming or distribution may be considered even when represented, although priority will be given to films without a sales company.
Selected Teams to Meet International Decision-Makers
Applications must include a synopsis, details about the director and producer, a production company profile, a film still and at least 20 minutes of footage with English subtitles. Promotional reels and trailers are not accepted as viewing material.
Selection will be based on the artistic quality and originality of the submitted material, as well as the international appeal of each story. Organisers expect to announce the final lineup by mid-October.
Participating teams will receive pitching support before presenting scenes from their projects during the Works in Progress sessions. They will also gain access to individual meetings, workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions and networking activities held as part of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event.
Awards include €6,000 in sound post-production services from Studio Beep and a €1,000 travel allowance for the best project selected from the Baltic Event and International showcases. A separate €1,000 marketing award will be presented to the winning Just Film Works in Progress project.
By connecting unfinished films with professionals capable of supporting their international launch, the Works in Progress programme provides producers with an opportunity to build partnerships at a crucial stage of production. Applications remain open until 14 September, ahead of the presentations in Tallinn this November.
