FilmUSA Returns to Cannes with Expanded 2026 Industry Program

FilmUSA will return to the Festival de Cannes and the Marché du Film for its fifth consecutive year with a broad lineup of programming, networking events, and industry conversations spotlighting production opportunities across the United States. Based in Pavilion #107 at the International Village, FilmUSA’s 2026 presence is open to all badge holders and will feature panels, receptions, discussions, and destination-focused showcases connecting global producers, filmmakers, commissions, and industry professionals.

The program opens on May 13 with “Mix and Mingle with Moab, Utah,” a networking event highlighting Moab’s landscapes and its growing profile as a U.S. filming destination.

A major focus of the 2026 lineup will be New Mexico, which takes center stage on May 14 with a full day of programming. Activities include “Croissants with the Commissioner,” an informal networking session hosted by the New Mexico Film Commissioner, followed by “Inside Production: Building in New Mexico,” exploring workforce development, studio growth, and production infrastructure. Later in the day, “Where Story Begins: Filmmaking in New Mexico” will examine how the state’s landscapes, culture, and creative community continue to attract productions ranging from independent films to global projects. The day concludes with the “Made in New Mexico” industry reception.

Florida will headline the May 15 schedule with a series of events focused on incentives, workforce, and production infrastructure, including “Pastries Under Palm Trees,” “Producing in Paradise,” and the “Florida Happy Hour.

California programming on May 16 includes “From The Pitt to One Battle After Another: Powering Production in California,” focusing on the state’s stackable incentives and large-scale production ecosystem. The same day, Stage 32 will present “The Industry Reset – How Independent Films are Getting Made in 2026,” featuring producers, filmmakers, and talent discussing financing, sales, and the realities of the current independent film market.

Industry services and production logistics will also be part of the Cannes agenda through “United for Business Networking Reception: Where Production Meets Travel” presented by United Airlines’ entertainment-focused business division.

The May 16 evening schedule also includes a Q&A presentation for sHEALed, a women’s health documentary produced by Lolli Brands Entertainment and co-produced by JJ Virgin. Speakers include Tereza Lolli, Anthony Lolli, Gary Brecka, and Amy Shah.

Georgia Entertainment will take over the pavilion on May 17 with “Story to Scale: Georgia Day,” a full slate of programming dedicated to funding, incentives, locations, workforce, and infrastructure. The day will conclude with “Savannah on the Croisette: Lights, Camera, Cocktails,” hosted by the Savannah Regional Film Commission.

On May 18, the Dallas Film Commission will present “Fireside Chat: Producing Atonement,” offering a behind-the-scenes discussion on the Directors’ Fortnight selection, including development, financing, production, and post-production insights. The session will feature Steven Demmler and will be moderated by the Dallas Film Commission.

Additional networking events include the “Houston Happy Hour” on May 18 and “The Unoriginal Films Happy Hour with the Baton Rouge Underground Film Festival” on May 19, celebrating independent filmmaking in Louisiana.

The FilmUSA program concludes on May 20 with the “Yes She Cannes x FilmUSA Apéro | She Squad Gathering,” a curated networking event designed to foster collaboration and conversation among women working across the global film industry.
