Tech Talent Market
Calgary has ranked as North America’s fastest-growing tech talent market for the third consecutive year, according to CBRE’s 2026 Scoring Tech Talent report. In 15th place among North America’s top 50 tech talent markets, up two positions from 2025. Between 2022 and 2025, the city added nearly 29,000 technology workers, growing its tech workforce by 56% to more than 80,000 people.
A younger population is helping sustain that momentum. Calgary recorded the fastest growth in residents in their 20s among major tech markets, increasing by 21.9% between 2019 and 2024, while its population in their 30s grew by another 20.3%. Investment has followed that expansion. Recent financing includes $68.5 million for Neo Financial, approximately $21 million for OneVest, $44 million for GeologicAI and around $65 million for Eavor.
Calgary now has more than 1,300 core technology companies and over 40 accelerators and incubators.
