Film-Friendly New York
The Saratoga County Film Commission, powered by Discover Saratoga, serves as a film-friendly partner providing complimentary, comprehensive support to local and visiting productions. A place that balances it all; Saratoga offers scenic trails, farm-to-table cuisine, championship golf, world-class performances and attractive downtowns. Saratoga County invites filmmakers to create and inspire in the great Upstate.
Because of the iconic Saratoga Race Course, the area has been the filming location for well-known horse-related films like The Horse Whisperer and Seabiscuit. Most recently, Owen Wilton and director Britt McAdams lit up the region with the filming of Paint, a Bob Ross inspired independent film that included scenes in local bars and restaurants.
2027 will mark the third annual Saratoga Film Showcase where local and visiting filmmakers showcase their talent in the charming city of Saratoga Springs. In collaboration with local organizations, the Showcase is able to bring accredited writers and directors to Saratoga for two days’ worth of short films, panels, networking opportunities and more to audience members and filmmakers.
