Filming has begun in Naples for Super Santos, the debut feature by Ciro Visco, loosely based on the novel “Cuore puro” by Roberto Saviano (Giunti Editore, 2022), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Stefano Piedimonte and the director himself.
The cast includes Francesco Di Leva, Massimiliano Rossi, Antonia Truppo, and young newcomers Thomas D’Angelo, Ciro Esposito, Ciro Dommarco, and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
The film is produced by Carlo Degli Esposti, Nicola Serra, and Marco Grifoni for Palomar (a Mediawan company), Massimiliano Orfei, Luisa Borella, and Davide Novelli for PiperFilm, produced and distributed with the contribution of the Cinema and Audiovisual Investment Development Fund of the Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual.
Filming will take place for 6 weeks in Naples. Cristiano Di Nicola serves as Director of Photography, production design is by Ludovica Ferrario, costumes by Mariano Tufano, and editing will be handled by Marcello Saurino.
Super Santos will be distributed in cinemas in Italy by PiperFilm and abroad by PiperPlay.
