{"id":8974,"date":"2015-01-30T15:32:04","date_gmt":"2015-01-30T15:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/?p=8974"},"modified":"2026-04-10T03:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T01:30:14","slug":"locationsnews-from-the-italian-film-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/it\/locationsnews-from-the-italian-film-commission","title":{"rendered":"LOCATIONS News from the Italian Film Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-9006\" src=\"https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Trenker_DT7_Seiseralm_Filmset_0007.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>ALTO ADIGE\/PPOTAGONIST AT THE BERLINALE<\/strong><br \/>\nWhile Alto Adige was present in Berlin last year in competition with the German \u201cDas Finstere Tal\u201d, this year it returns to the red carpet of the Berlinale with two movies: \u201cSworn Virgin\u201d, in competition, the debut work by Laura Bispuri filmed in Merano and Bolzano and supported by the <strong>BLS<\/strong> to the tune of 190,000 Euros (a production by <strong>Vivo Film and Colorado Film Production with Rai Cinema, Bord Cadre films, Match Factory Productions and Era Film<\/strong>), and the world premiere of \u201cElser \u2013 Er h\u00e4tte die Welt ver\u00e4ndert\u201d (international title \u201c13 Minutes\u201d) by Oliver Hirschbiegel.<br \/>\nThis movie, produced by Germany\u2019s <strong>Lucky Bird Pictures<\/strong>, in co-production with <strong>Delphi Medien<\/strong> and <strong>Philipp Filmproduction<\/strong>, was filmed in a large fruit warehouse in Terlano, in the Caserma Francesco Rossi barracks of Merano and inside and outside the Ristorante Bersaglio also in Merano. The picture tells the story of Georg Elser, a humble carpenter from K\u00f6nigsbronn who, on November 8th 1939, attempted to kill Hitler with a bomb attack in the B\u00fcrgerbr\u00e4ukeller in Munich, missing his target by just 13 minutes. \u201cIt gives us great satisfaction that two projects financed by our Film Commission and partly made in Alto Adige have been selected for the official competition of such an important festival\u201d says <strong>Christiana Wertz<\/strong>, head of the Film Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst the projects currently being filmed in the region, we should mention \u201cThe Way of the Eagle\u201d, by Gerardo Olivares which, after some filming last summer, returned in February to shoot in the mountains of Alto Adige. The movie, which is produced by the Austrian<strong> Terra Mater Factual Studios<\/strong> and received 600,000.00 Euros from the BLS, stars Jean Reno, the young Manuel Comacho and Tobias Moretti, who was also in \u201cDas finstere Tal\u201d (which also received support from the BLS) and for which, in 2014, he was awarded the prize for Best Supporting Actor at the German cinema\u2019s Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>Tobias Moretti is also the protagonist of \u201cLuis Trenker \u2013 Der schmale Grat der Wahrheit\u201d, another summer set which returned to film in Alto Adige in January: a TV movie by Wolfgang Murnberge, it received 700,000.00 Euros from the BLS and is produced by Germany\u2019s <strong>Roxy Film<\/strong> together with Austria\u2019s <strong>EPO Film<\/strong>.<br \/>\nSet in the 1920s, it tells the story of the encounter between the mountaineer and director Luis Trenker and the young and ambitious Leni Riefenstahl. At the end of January, Renon also welcomed \u201cFr\u00e4ulein\u201d, the debut work by Caterina Carone, winner of the first edition of RACCONTI, produced by Carlo Cresto Dina\u2019s <strong>Tempesta<\/strong>. Christian De Sica and Lucia Mascino play a mysterious tourist and a hotel owner who meet during a solar storm. The project received funding of 480,000.00 Euros from the BLS and plans to involve many local professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Some other important sets expected soon include \u201cThe correspondence\u201d by Giuseppe Tornatore, and \u201cBianco\u201d by Daniele Vicari, a <strong>Mir Cinematografica\/ Aeternam Films<\/strong> Italian-French co-production, with Elio Germano and Luca Argentero. The 5 million Euro fund for television and theatrical productions and pre-productions is confirmed for 2015 when the BLS hopes to exceed the results obtained in 2014: 24 projects funded generat- ing 33 sets and more than 600 days of filming in the region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRENTINO\/BEAUTY IS A HABIT<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are two international sets working in Trentino in the month of February: on the 2nd shooting started on \u201cIl Traduttore\u201d by Massimo Natale, produced by <strong>Kalitera Production, Inthelfilm and Wider Films<\/strong> (which will distribute the movie), in co-production with the Polish <strong>Agresywna Banda<\/strong>. The movie, which has received support from the Mibact (Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities) and is being made in collaboration with Rai Cinema, is a love story between an Italian widow (Claudia Gerini) and a Romanian boy (Kamil Kula) who works in Italy as a translator.<\/p>\n<p>On February 23rd Mirko Pincelli will start shooting \u201cThe Habit of Beauty\u201d, a co-production between Italy\u2019s <strong>Orisa<\/strong> and Britain\u2019s <strong>The Habit of Beauty<\/strong>, starring Francesca Neri, Vincenzo Amato, Remo Girone, Noel Clarke, Kierston Wareing and Nico Mirallegro. It is a dramatic film set in London and the mountains of Trentino about a husband and wife coping with the sudden death of their only child.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 the projects funded with the last tranche of the <strong>Trentino Film Commission<\/strong>\u2019s 2014 Fund will also be filming in Trentino. These include \u201cThe Correspondence\u201d, the new movie by Giuseppe Tornatore, produced by <strong>Paco Cinematografica<\/strong>, which also received support from the BLS- Alto Adige Film Fund &amp; Commission and the Film Commission Torino Piemonte, \u201dMi chiedo quando ti mancher\u00f2\u201d by Francesco Fei, a co- production between Italy (<strong>Mare Mosso<\/strong> and<strong> Invisible Film<\/strong>), Hungary (<strong>Laokoon Film Arts<\/strong>) and Croatia (<strong>Sekvenca Production<\/strong>), the horror thriller \u201cGhost Mountaineer\u201d by Urmas E. Liiv, a co-production with Trentino\u2019s Decima Rosa and the Estonian <strong>Kopli Kinokompanii O\u00dc<\/strong> , with the support of the <strong>Estonian Film Institut<\/strong>, the <strong>Estonian Cultural Endowment and the Estonian TV3<\/strong>. There are also some documentaries: \u201cOltre il confine-La storia di Ettore Castiglioni\u201d directed by Andrea Azzetti and Federico Massa, produced by <strong>GiUMa Produzioni of Trento<\/strong>, \u201cAnimali nella Grande Guerra\u201d, by Folco Quilici, produced by Red Film, and \u201cUn libro in tasca\u201d by Claudio Chianura, produced by <strong>HAZE<\/strong> and co-produced by <strong>KR Movie<\/strong> of Trento.<\/p>\n<p>The next deadline for requesting support from the Trentino Film Commission Film Fund is February 20th 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>APULIA\/VALENTINO IN CASTELLANETA<\/strong><br \/>\nBari will be the protagonist, until the end of February, of two feature movies: \u201cSe ti diranno di me\u201d, a TV movie by Marco Tullio Giordana (<strong>Bibi film<\/strong>), which will also be filmed in Gravina, in Apulia, until February 28th, and \u201cLa ragazza dei miei sogni\u201d by Saverio Di Biagio (<strong>Draka<\/strong>), which also includes, amongst its locations, Molfetta and Giovinazzo. In December, Castellaneta, in the province of Taranto, provided the set for \u201cRudy Valentino: divo dei divi\u201d by Nico Cirasola, with Claudia Cardinale and Nicola Nocella (produced by <strong>Bunker lab<\/strong>).
