{"id":39025,"date":"2019-09-15T09:14:26","date_gmt":"2019-09-15T09:14:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/?p=39025"},"modified":"2026-04-10T03:45:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T01:45:39","slug":"showlab-from-production-to-international-distribution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/it\/showlab-from-production-to-international-distribution","title":{"rendered":"SHOWLAB From production to international distribution"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/Yo-Yo-01-1024x724.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39179\" width=\"279\" height=\"197\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last two years have been very important for the development of the activities of the television production company<strong> Showlab<\/strong>, with the acquisition of a share of the company by the <strong>Giochi Preziosi Group<\/strong>, the leading toy brand on the Italian market and the strategic alliance, in terms of production and licensing activities, with the historic animation production company, <strong>Studio Campedelli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The feather in its cap is \u201cYoYo\u201d (52 x 7\u2019), in coproduction with <strong>Rai Ragazzi, Grid Animation and Telegael<\/strong>, the second season of which is in production and will be completed in the first few months of 2020. <br>Drawn by <strong>Ugo Nespolo<\/strong>, one of the protagonists of international pop art, \u201cYoYo\u201d is among Rai Ragazzi\u2019s top preschool series that has been sold to around a hundred countries, with around thirty gaming and publishing licenses in Italy alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filming began in June, in Milan and Valencia, on the live action series for girls \u201cMiracle Tunes\u201d (26&#215;26\u2019), based on the format of the Japanese production of the same name by Dentsu. <br>Co-produced by Showlab with Spain\u2019s <strong>Portocabo TV,<\/strong> the series has been successfully broadcast in Italy on <strong>Cartoonito<\/strong> since last October. <br>Since the first months of programing the five young protagonists of \u201cMiracle Tunes\u201d and their songs have become extremely popular with young female viewers in Italy. <br>Their tours around the country are always packed with cheering fans while their You Tube channel has over 150,000 subscribers. <br>The second season of \u201cMiracle Tunes\u201d (25&#215;26\u2019) will be aired, again on Car- toonito, from September. <br>\u201cThe production of Miracle Tunes was an important challenge not only from a production viewpoint but also in terms of the marketing of the spin-off products\u201d says <strong>Guido Bert\u00e8<\/strong>, General Manager of Consumer Products at Showlab. \u201cWe hope that, with the second season, the series will be able repeat in other countries the high approval levels achieved with young female Italian audiences\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In spring this year, international distribution was added to Showlab\u2019s production and consumer product activities in the animation and kids\u2019 programs sector, with the arrival of a highly esteemed professional in the sector, <strong>Micheline Azoury<\/strong>. <br>\u201cFor me\u201d says Azoury \u201cit was exciting to note the volume of work produced by Showlab and its quality and variety. This fall we will be bringing new proposals and second seasons to Cannes that are definitely very interesting for international buyers\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New productions were announced in 2019 in addition to those already in progress, including the animated series \u201cWhiskey and His Friends\u201d (26&#215;7\u2019, co-produced with <strong>DNA<\/strong>) and \u201cKlincus\u201d (26&#215;26\u2019, with Grid Animation), together with the launch of the YouTube <strong>MagaWow channel<\/strong>, a platform that brings together original content produced in Showlab\u2019s Milan factory, content by the youtubers that are most popular with Italian kids and their families and which, from 2020, will begin programming original animated series.
