{"id":37341,"date":"2019-05-08T08:06:57","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T08:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/?p=37341"},"modified":"2026-04-10T03:44:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T01:44:14","slug":"producers-on-the-move-is-20-years-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/it\/producers-on-the-move-is-20-years-old","title":{"rendered":"PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE IS 20 YEARS OLD"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celebrating the 20th edition of <strong>EFP Producers on the Move<\/strong> at the Cannes Film Festival, EFP (<strong>European Film Promotion<\/strong>) will be presenting 20 up-and- coming producers from throughout Europe. <br>The enterprising young filmmakers have qualified for the high-profile program by producing award-winning feature films in their home country and having first experiences of international coproductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right from the start of the program in 2000, Italian producers &#8211; Tilde Corsi (R&amp;C Produzioni) was the first &#8211; have been selected every year for Producers on the Move. <br>In 2019, <strong>Nadia Trevisan <\/strong>(<strong>Nefertiti Film<\/strong>) was nominated by Istituto Luce Cinecitt\u00e0 &#8211; Filmitalia. <br>She produced the Locarno Competition title \u201cMenocchio\u201d (2018) and also joined forces with Rok Secen (Producer on the Move 2018) to coproduce \u201cHistory of Love\u201d (2018). <br>Next up is \u201cSmall Body\u201d directed by Laura Samani. <br>The project already won awards at the Torino Film Lab and When East Meets West in Trieste. <br>Trevisan will pitch upcoming projects looking for coproducer among her colleagues from all over Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like <strong>Jon Nohrstedt<\/strong>, a producer at the renowned <strong>SF Studios in Stockholm<\/strong>, who oversaw the production of \u201cBorg vs. McEnroe\u201d starring Sverrir Gudnason, Shia LeBeouf and Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another producer from Scandinavia joining this year\u2019s line-up is <strong>Nina Bisgaard<\/strong> of Copenhagen\u2019s <strong>Meta Films<\/strong> with the multiple award-winning \u201cBorder\u201d by Ali Abbasi in her portfolio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joe Penna\u2019s \u201cArctic\u201d has just been released in the cinemas and is already a big hit at the box office: Icelandic filmmaker <strong>Lilja Snorrad\u00f3ttir<\/strong> (<strong>Pegasus Films<\/strong>) coproduced the big screen adventure featuring Mads Mikkelsen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mila Turajlic<\/strong> (<strong>Dribbling Pictures<\/strong>), who specializes in auteur-driven docu- mentary films, realized the first HBO Europe coproduction with Serbia, the award-winning \u201cThe Other Side of Everything\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emily Morgan<\/strong> (<strong>Quiddity Films<\/strong>) was named both Outstanding Debut Producer at the 2018 BAFTAs as well as Breakthrough Producer at the British Independent Film Awards for the highly acclaimed \u201cI Am Not a Witch\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By selecting such distinguished producers to foster international coproductions and promote their work to the film industry at the Cannes Film Festival over the past 20 years, EFP has created a network of 400 producers, many of whom becoming long-term coproduction partners like <strong>Labina Mitevska<\/strong> (North Macedonia) and<strong> Zdenka Gold <\/strong>(Croatia), who met at EFP Producers on the Move in 2013, returned to the Cannes Film Festival with \u201cSieranevada\u201d along with fellow participant <strong>Anca Puiu<\/strong> in 2016, and celebrated the premiere of \u201cGod Exists, Her Name is Petrunya\u201d at this year\u2019s Berlin International Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/efp-online.com\">efp-online.com<\/a><\/strong> for information on the complete list of Producers on the Move 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Celebrating the 20th edition of EFP Producers on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival, EFP (European Film Promotion) will be presenting 20 up-and- coming producers from throughout Europe.
