{"id":15754,"date":"2018-10-01T07:42:28","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T07:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/?p=15754"},"modified":"2026-04-10T03:40:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T01:40:58","slug":"mia-a-showcase-and-a-laboratory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinema.video\/it\/mia-a-showcase-and-a-laboratory","title":{"rendered":"MIA A Showcase and a Laboratory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-15782 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cinema.video\/wp-content\/uploads\/F.Rutelli_N.Borrelli_l.Milazzotto_n.Zingaretti_G.Leone_-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"145\" \/>MIA-Mercato Internazionale dell\u2019Audiovisivo<\/strong>, is an independent yet parallel event held in the city of Rome which, towards the end of October, is enlivened by two theatrical events of international importance, <strong>MIA(17-21)<\/strong> and the <strong>Festa del Cinema (18-28)<\/strong>, joined this year by the brand new <strong>Videocitt\u00e0 (19-28)<\/strong>.<br \/>\nNow in its fourth edition, the still youthful MIA that will once again be located right inside the Barberini \u201cdistrict\u201d (the piazza, Palazzo, hotel and cinema which bear same name together with the Cinema Quattro Fontane),now appears to be a well-consolidated event supporting the Italian audiovisual market. \u00a0This is evident from the figures for the last edition: 1,800 professionals attended from 50 countries, and the trend is growing this year to the extent that the dedicated spaces have been increased. \u00a0Of course having a location like Renaissance and Baroque Romeis an added value and a guarantee of success with foreign professionals.<br \/>\n\u00abThe audiovisual production sector is experiencing a regular Renaissance\u201d, emphasizes the President of <strong>APT Giancarlo Leone<\/strong>. \u00a0As the Editorial Director <strong>Lucia Milazzotto<\/strong> points out, \u00abthe past three editions achieved concrete and important results in terms of the exporting of products and the co-productions set up under our banner\u201d, citing the success of the international sales of\u00abThe Place\u00bb by Genovese and \u00abNico\u00bb by Nicchiarelli, or the series \u00abDon\u2019t Leave Me\u00bb and \u00abEternal City\u00bb which found international partners thanks to MIA.<br \/>\nThe works presented at MIA will be distributed over four sections: <em>Content Showcase<\/em>, <em>Co-Production Market<\/em> and P<em>itching Forum<\/em>, Guided and Free <em>Networking and Talks.<\/em><br \/>\nFirstly the Content Showcase will include screenings (over 120) of works produced from September 2017 onwards that were not shown at MIA and the Festa del Cinema 2017, whose public premiere took place after June 2018. \u00a0<strong>\u00abWhat&#8217;s Next Italy\u00bb<\/strong> &#8211; which is of particular significance for our cinema industry -will be included in this area. \u00a0\u00a0The program features \u00abSe ti abbraccio non aver paura\u00bb by Gabriele Salvatores, \u00abIl Campione\u00bb by Leonardo D\u2019Agostino and\u00abFreaks Out\u00bb by Gabriele Mainetti, films that will be released in movie theaters next year. \u00abC EU Soon\u00bb is instead dedicated to new European talents who have films currently in production.<br \/>\nWith regard to television series, this year MIA will be inaugurating <strong>\u00abGreenl.it\u00bb<\/strong>dedicated to Italian dramas: advance news, clips, trailers and anything else that can illustrate the Made in Italy serial products in production.\u00a0Some of the most highly anticipated titles in the calendar are \u00abThe name of the Rose\u00bb, \u00abDevils\u00bb and \u00abMy brilliant friend \u00bb.<br \/>\nThe <strong>\u00abItalians Doc It Better\u00bb<\/strong> space is instead dedicated to the documentary genre.\u00a0The titles include \u00abSamouni Road\u00bb, \u00abLa Passione di Anna Magnani\u00bb, \u00abIl filo dell\u2019Alleanza\u00bb, \u00ab1938 &#8211; Diversi\u00bb and \u00abThe Hijacker\u00bb.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Co-production Market and Pitching Forum<\/strong> is dedicated to productions which have not yet been made. \u00a0MIA has selected around sixty projects from over 20 countries (films, series and documentaries) which will be offered a \u201csupport\u201d program (presentations and B2B meetings), coordinated by the MIA team, with the pitching consultancy of the American coach <strong>Bob Schultz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian films are \u00abDomina Maris\u00bb by Silvia Perra, \u00abThe Favorite Daughters\u00bb by Lucrezia Le Moli Munck, \u00abL\u2019agnello\u00bb by Mario Piredda; the scripted series \u00abChristian\u00bb, \u00abEros 70\u00bb, \u00abRED \u2013 Revolutionary Dreamers\u00bb; the docs and doc series \u00abThe Rossellinis\u00bb, \u00abSearching for Valentina. The World of Guido Crepax\u00bb, \u00abFederico of the Spirits\u00bb, \u00abI\u2019m in Love with Pippa Bacca\u00bb, \u00abThe One and the Many\u00bb, \u00abTintoretto \u2013 The First Movie Director\u00bb, \u00abEarth Wind and Fire\u00bb, \u00abDavide Campari. The Message in the Bottle\u00bb, \u00abMillennials.
