UNEFA (Union of Film and Audiovisual Exporters) was formed in the early 80’s, grouping together all the companies operating in this complex field.
After 35 years of being an Anica member union, the Italian exporters have taken the plunge and gone independent.
The companies gathering under the UNEFA banner are the same that over the years have promoted Italian cinema world wide with pride and passion
\"\"In today’s market, dominated by the power of large conglomerates, UNEFA’s companies are a guarantee of experience.
Nearly eighty per cent of the entire Italian audiovisual production over the last 60 years, is handled by UNEFA’s associates.
The founding partners of the new UNEFA represent the continuity of Italian Cinema in the world: libraries of Italian Classics and promotion of new contemporary cinema, establishing co-productions and developing a network of distribution worldwide. In the last five years the Italian Audiovisual Industry has constantly been gaining international recognition and getting back international market quotas.
The italian exporters have been an essential part of this process of market growth, unhelped by an internal banking system that practically cuts them off any possibility of competition in bidding for the big home grown movies. This is a sore point for Italian exporters and will be the first battle to fight on the home front for independent UNEFA.
However UNEFA will concentrate, pragmatically, in pursuing along the lines that exporters believe to be in the best interest of Italian Audiovisual product. <\/P>

The acronym remains the same \u00e2\u20ac\u201c UNEFA \u00e2\u20ac\u201c thus emphasizing the continuity which characterizes the members’ strategy. Cinema & Video International has always followed the fortunes of Italian cinema abroad with great attention, regularly promoting the activities of exporters on the main Markets and at international Festivals.
